Covid Safety Plan for Visiting Guests
Stag’s Hollow staff are looking forward to welcoming guests back to the winery. Expect an enjoyable and informative tasting outdoors while we respect your personal space and refrain from all physical contact during your visit.
Stag’s Hollow has implemented a reservation model for tastings to control flow of guests to ensure a safe and physically distant expereince. Reservation links and details provided here. Contact information for one person in each group, of up to 6, will be captured and retained for 30 days. Groups are defined as guests that are travelling together, and therefore are not distancing amonst themselves. We ask that you arrive on time for your appointment or call if you will be late. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may be lost and filled by waiting guests. Late arrival will also cut into your booking time. We also do not have much space to allow early arrivals.
Walk-ins for tastings will be accepted if space is available and contact information will be captured and kept for 30 days.
Walk-ins for purchase only are of course welcome! You will be looked after as soon as an employee is free to do so.
Our employees will be observing physical distancing both in the wine shop and on the deck.
There is only one door for entry and exit to/from our wine shop. We ask that our guests respect distancing requirements and wait until safe to either enter or exit if other groups are there at the same time.
Footprint decals are on the floor in the wineshop and lines on the deck for guidance in respecting proper distancing.
Signage will also be in place to remind guests to remain 2 metres from other groups on the deck, in the wine shop and in the picnic area.
Capacity rules: No more than 4 guests or 2 groups, whichever is less, will be allowed in wine shop at a time, and 10 guests in our picnic area (with no one group larger than 6). On the deck, the maximum capacity is 14 guests. Due to the limited occupancy rules, we are unable to host persons under the age of 19.
New tasting procedure (April through October)
All tastings will take place on our patio deck unless the weather is truly bad. In those instances, capacity will become reduced as we will use our tasting bar in the wine shop and two tables in the adjacent room, with a maximum capacity of 3 groups of maximum 4 guests
Reusable tasting notes will be provided, and sanitized after each guest experience. Alternatively, tasting notes can be accessed from our website on your mobile device.
One server will be in contact with a group while physically distancing. After tasting, orders will be placed with staff and then completed in the wine shop.
Cleaning & Hygiene
Staff must wash their hands with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds at the start of each shift, after visiting the bathroom and before and after each break. We will be sanitizing the wine shop bar, tasting sheets, outside deck tables & chairs, and payment terminals at the start and end of each day and between guest visits throughout the day.
We ask all guests to sanitize their hands at the top of our steps before they enter the wineshop or patio deck for their tasting.
A plexiglass shield will separate staff from guests at the point of purchase and packaging. Tap purchases are encouraged.
Staff must wear masks and may wear face shields and gloves while working. Gloves will be disposed of at the end of each shift, or at the end of their. Face shields will be sanitized at the end of each shift, or at the end of use.
Glassware for guests will be sanitized in our high heat commercial dishwasher.
Disposable spit cups will be provided upon request. We ask that you dispose of contents into tasting buckets provided at your table. These buckets will be cleaned and sanitized after every tasting.
Guests are encouraged not to handle any products unless purchased.
Hand sanitizer will be made available to guests and staff at entry and throughout the wine shop.
Signs will be posted to inform guests of our capacity rules; no more than 4 persons will be allowed in wine shop at a time, 10 in the picnic area and 14 on the deck. Staff will be diligently managing this.
Signs will remind guests of physical distancing, limiting touch points, & hand sanitizing upon entry to winery tasting areas.
Signage advising guests who have travelled recently or who are displaying any visible symptoms (coughing, sneezing) will be advised not to visit the winery.
Handwashing instruction signs will be displayed in the bathrooms and in staff areas.
Our staff has been instructed to stay home if they are not feeling well in any way. Staff will follow all isolation guidelines as directed by the Province.
Staff will take their temperature at the beginning of each shift, and sign the log book.
Visitors who appear visibly ill (coughing, sneezing) will be asked to leave.
What we ask of you
If you are not feeling well, please do not visit the winery. This is for the safety of everyone. We would love to see you but please come when you are feeling better... our wines will taste better then as well!
Please use complimentary hand sanitizer before entering the wine shop.
We prefer you do not touch any of the display wines… our staff is happy to assist you!
Please respect physical distancing regulations and remain 2 metres apart from other persons in the wine shop or anywhere else on the property.
You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in our picnic area only, available by reservation. We ask that you enjoy our beautiful view for no more than an hour and that you pack everything away with you when you leave. Each party must respect the posted capacity rules for this area and the seating as it is arranged.
Please respect distancing rules when you enter & exit our tasting room… it may be necessary to wait for someone to pass through the door before you can safely do so as well.
We are extremely grateful for the continued support of our guests, wine club members and local community and look forward to your in-person visits this summer.
Stay safe and healthy and drink wine!
